Out of stock

  • children aged 9 and over who want to explore their creativity through ceramics.
  • those who want to learn hand modelling techniques in a fun and stimulating environment.
  • anyone who wants to create unique, personalised objects to decorate and take home.

The course consists of 12 sessions of 1.5 hours each, spread over 4 months.

Guests are invited to come dressed in comfortable clothing and prepared to get dirty.

During each session the children will have the opportunity to explore their creativity through different ceramic modelling techniques:

  • Pinch: freehand modelling to create small sculptures and simple shapes.
  • Columbine: rolling clay by hand to form long ‘snakes’ that can be overlapped and joined to create vases, bowls and other three-dimensional objects.
  • Slab: rolling clay into flat slabs that can be cut and shaped to create more complex shapes.

Each lesson will be a step-by-step demonstration and explanation of the techniques by the teachers.

Children are encouraged to experiment and personalise their projects by decorating them with engobes.

All the materials needed, including glazing and firing, are included in the course.

The objects created will be available for collection 10-15 days after the end of the course, once the final baking has been completed.

Thereafter, all pieces must be collected within 90 days. Any works unclaimed beyond this period will find a new home through a charity auction.
